I'm getting popular. But I wonder how you check referrals. That's what I wanna know.
Dang it I need a new email service. I could get it from my ISP, but it seems like I just changed mine over. I don't like Hotpop cause it takes a week for me to get an email, it takes a week for it to send one, and I have an attachment limit of only 500k. That's really gay. I guess it would be worth it. Sigh. You just can't get a descent free pop3 address these days. Stupid companies with their big fat wallets gotta fill it up even more. Ya know I was perfectly happy with my yahoo email, but NOOOO! Oh well, I guess that's all for my rant.
1.29.03- Cooling problems
I hear how Nvidia is having some cooling troubles with their GeForce FX. Its only that the fan is really loud. Tom's hardware made some mp3's of how loud it is. It's because of fan noise that water cooling is going to take off. I hope people start making ways where water cooling wouldn't be so much of a hassle.
1.24.03- Bleah... ugghh
I'm sick. In fact about a third of our school is sick. I'm sure it will get over half before they cancel school, because they don't want to give up our precious Easter holidays. I don't have the flu or anything, but I got something, and it's keeping me from school. Even if I did go which I really don't feel like doing, I wouldn't be able to concentrate or work because I would be miserable. Also I might get something worse like the Ebola virus or something. Who knows?
So what am I doing now? Flipping channels in a desperate hope of some entertaining daytime show. When I'm not doing that, I'm playing on a nice little Counter-Strike server called The Dry Dock. It's a server where they only play custom maps. Which is cool if you just get tired of playing the regular maps that come with Counter-Strike, or you just want to fool around and not really play seriously. Some maps even have vehicles. It's fun to run over people. :)
1.18.03- Signs
I saw Signs tonight. I thought it was a pretty good movie. M. Night Shyamalan is a great director because he knows what he wants and he does it. He doesn't stray much from what he wanted to do when he first started, and because of it, the movie turns out great.
This makes me more anxious to make a movie. After writing 2 scripts and not making any of them into films, I'm getting frustrated. I don't know if its me or I need more help or what. I need to be more assertive. I need to get this done. I need to plan things out. That's how I'm gonna do it with this horror/scary movie I want to do. But I want to get a friend to help me write it. I feel like, with it just being me, the story and the dialog just doesn't turn out real. And going over it and correcting an already written script isn't doing anything because there is already too much of a base there. So.... we'll see.
1.16.03- Doom III
I got the Doom III alpha leak! I'll give you a very detailed overview of my experiences.
I decided to get it so I opened up KaZaA and then started to download it. I was downloading it off and on for about a week or two. The reason it took so long was because the only person that was sharing it was some dial-up person. But I finally got it. Then I unzipped it, then I got the patch, then I found the console commands for loading maps cause you gotta load maps from the console.
For the next few moments I had experienced what can be only described as utter disbelief, awe struck, and in a mode of false unconsciousness. I was witnessing the future. The next stepping stone that John Carmack had placed for us and our future. I was standing on it. And what a view it was.
The screen shots you've probably seen were only a view through the head of a needle. In order to fully grasp the beauty of Doom III, you would have to see it in action, to witness the character movements, and to watch as that vital bodily fluid would spurt in ways we only see in violent movies.
Because of the Doom III engine, soon cinematics will be created not by powerful modeling and animation software, but by the very engine that that game uses. The time when we will be unable to distinguish between cinematics and the game is drawing painfully close. And the future will bring us toward a point which the games we play will be of photographic quality. When we reach that point, how will we be able to improve those games? Who will be the next John Carmack? Who will be the next one to create those stepping stones? Only time will tell.
1.14.03- HOLY FLYING MONKEYS!!!
I almost forgot about this site. Let's see. I'm gonna get a new hard drive soon. I'm thinking about this one. I need a new one cause A) I don't really like this Maxtor one. B) It's only 20gb and I need some more space C) A quieter drive would be nice.
It's not like I actually need a reason to upgrade my computer. But just in case someone asks. I need some more space to edit video. After I get the new HD I'll get a DVD-RAM. That would be awesome.
I think the next time I do a major full blown upgrade will be sometime early in 2004. I'll get a new motherboard, processor, MAYBE new RAM if I need it, and maybe a nice pretty case if I feel like spending money on it. I mean, its not what's on the outside that counts, but what's on the inside.
1.9.03- I'm weird
Because I have weird dreams. Like last night I dreamed that I was in my back yard, and all this weird stuff was going on. Then this naked guy came running out and he hid behind a tree. Then a pair of shoes came out of the ground and ran away.
If anyone can interpret this, please contact me immediately.
1.6.03- Weird
Sometimes when I'm cleaning up after school and there is just about no one there, it gets kinda weird. Like I see things out of the corner of my eye, and I hear things. I don't think my school is haunted, but it is pretty weird. Kinda freaky.
That makes me want to make a horror movie. But it won't be some stupid slasher movie. Of course it would have violence, but it wouldn't be stupid and it would actually make you scared. Basically it would have a lot of jump scenes. And good ones too, not stupid ones.
I got a custom Counter-Strike spray! It's that Muffin Man banner up there. To make one, you basically have to download a little program, then the picture you want to use has to have its dimensions multiplied together, and that number has to be less than 10,000 pixels, then those dimensions have to be evenly divisible by 16. Once you get it all perfect it makes a special WAD file and poof! There it is.
1.3.03- Uh oh....
If I keep playing counter-strike, I might start killing people! That's what they want you to think. People think that they will outlaw games because they think it is a cause for violence. I think it's a combination of games, movies, music, and all that other stuff. And the home you are raised in. If you are raised in a broken home, then you are more likely to be violent. They made reports on this stuff. I don't come from a broken home, so I'm not gonna kill anyone any time soon.
1.2.03- New year!
Just in case you haven't noticed. The last weekend for my Christmas break is coming up. Seems like it was longer then I expected. That's good. But we aren't gonna have another break till a short week around Valentines day. That's a whole month! You can tell I don't like school.
