Once I got my 4.1 speakers, my next investment was a new soundcard to go along with those speakers. I wanted a good one, so I decided to get the Audigy.

Installing it was just like any other thing. Except I had to go into the BIOS and disable all of the integrated sound mess for it to work. Other than that it was nice. It comes with several different plug ins. Front, rear, center, mic, line in, a plug for digital speakers, and a firewire port. That was one of the reasons I wanted the Audigy. Not that I use it, but sooner or later, I'm gonna get something that uses firewire, then I can use it. Since there is all this extra stuff, there was no room for the joystick port. But no worries, cause they handled this problem with a dongle. Not that I was using that space anyway.

It's not much different than having just regular stereo sound, except for the fact that it is surround, and the sound is all around you determined by where it is coming from. It's pretty cool. The software that comes with it is just your normal sound stuff. It comes with some MP3 player and stuff. One of the cool things that it comes with is this EAX tool. You can make it sound like you are in different environments, change the pitch of your voice, and all sorts of different stuff, all in real time! I couldn't find another program like that anywhere. Now I'm glad I have one.

It came with 2 games too. Deus Ex and Giants: Citizen Kabuto. I didn't like Deus Ex, but Giants was pretty fun.

That's about all there is to say about it. It just gives you surround sound, and Advanced EAX HD support. I guess I will give it 5 muffins. Cause its a good card.
