The History of the Stinkythe1 HQ

Introduction:

It was about this time one year ago when I wanted to make a web page. A webpage where I could tell about what I thought about things. So far, it has filled its purpose. But things have changed since I first started. We will look at each part of its evolution separately. Starting with:

Scheme:

The ST1HQ used to be very ugly. Even some people say it is still ugly. But when it first started, it looked something like this.

That was ugly wasn't it? But then I started the Poll! And that saved me from my ugly scheme.

The Poll:

The poll solved some problems for us. It also answered some questions for us. We found out that you wanted me to change the color on my site, that you liked the new color and frame, Blackbird was the strangest user on the forum, the best thing about Valentines Day is the flowers, that the next poll should be nothing, and you hate the poll, that the best "recent" movie was The Patriot, and that Matt is as smart as he thinks he is, and that when you go to restaurants, your order the same thing every time. But the Poll was getting to be a pain. I would have to keep thinking up of a question to ask, then updating it, then when the question was answered, I would have to put the results on my site. It was just a hassle.

The Logo:

The starting logo looked like something very stupid. But then I improved it. This is the logo as it was.

Very ugly huh? Well, I was looking at it one day, and I just noticed how stupid it looked. So I went to make a new logo. I think it was a good choice.

The Forum:

The forum is an interesting place to be. At least it was. But, when it was in it's prime, it had plenty of visitors. One of these went by the name of Pennywise. He was very sincere when he said that he would make a Church of Stinky. I thought he was being stupid, which he was. And so, he made a webpage. But it never got updated, so the "Church of Stinky" shut down.

Then came along a fellow named Blackbird. At first he seemed normal. But then he seemed to have this personal vendetta against this other user named Verdeboy. Then he announced that he was gay. All the users tried to tell him that being gay was bad (and it is). But then one user pulled through and convinced him that being gay was wrong. And that user was Beethoven. Blackbird wrote a poem titled "For you Beethoven" and it told the story of how he had turned from being gay to straight. Now, some folks doubted his transformation. But we may never know...

Then there was the Bunny. He told stories of how he would come and kill us all. But it turned out to be none other than BountyHunter.

Then came James_Joyce. What a strange person. He would give tales of utter nonsense. No one could understand what he would write. And so everyone got tired of him, and he disappeared.

The Book Reviews:

I added a section called book reviews. And it only had one review of a book, which was the Odyssey. Since I did not receive any more book reviews, that section soon died.

The Chat room:

Because of popular demand, I added a chat room. The first one was a piece of trash. But then I added a second, and better one. But I didn't get any traffic to it, so it too died.

The Absence:

In the period between March 2001 and September 2001, there have been no updates, no new stories or anything. The reason for this was I didn't have FrontPage 2000. I reformatted my hard drive and it was deleted. I only got it again in September. And so the site continued.

The Changes:

When I started doing my site again, I got rid of the Book reviews, the chat, and the Poll. I added the Driving, Food, and Work page. And so, this is how the Stinkythe1 HQ is as it is today.
