 Chapter 8

Jack went back to his hotel room. He pulled Tux out of his pocket.

“I have no idea how I’m gonna break into Microsoft HQ!” said Jack.

“Hmm… maybe you could get a couple of people from the Linux Association to help you.”

“But, what if they think I’m crazy for trying this?”

“Well, don’t worry. Even I think you are crazy for trying this, but I will still help you.”

“But you have no sense of self-preservation.”

“Well, yeah.”

Jack turned on his special laptop. There was a special screen that came up. It displayed all the names of the members of the Linux Association. It displayed their talents and skills.

“Wow! Hmm… I think I’ll get this guy, and this guy, and that guy.”

Jack just selected some various people. Then these little windows popped up and it started a video conference with all three of those he had chosen.

“Uh… Hi!” said Jack.

“Hey, it’s Jack!” said one.

“Hey!” “What happening!” “Wassup!” said the others.

“Hey. So, I got this plan to sneak into Microsoft’s HQ.”

“What? You want to sneak in there?”

“It’s impossible!”

“They will catch you!”

“No, no.” said Jack “I think that all four of us can get in there.”

            “What, you are crazy.”

“No, just meet me in my room. It’s room 303.”

A little later, three people met in his room.

“Hi. My name is Harry, this is Jim, and this is Bill. So, you say you want to sneak into Microsoft HQ.”

“That’s right. We are gonna get that source code, then I can start living my life normally again.”

“You will never live a normal life again. At least not like the life you once knew. When we get that source code, life will change dramatically. Computers will operate totally differently. You won’t be able to imagine this new life. But now that you are part of the Linux Association, you will never be able to go back to your old life. Not until we get that source code.”

“We are going to need some tools to get in.” said Tux. “Press that red button on you laptop, Jack.”

Jack did, and it displayed all the different tools it could become.

“Wow! This is a special laptop! It can cut glass, melt steel! I really don’t see what you guys are so worried about.”

“No matter what kind of tools that we have, they still will have the upper hand. They have the most advanced security system out there. There is no way we will be able to sneak in.”

“Uh… did Microsoft make their own security system?” asked Jack.

“Yeah. Why?”

“Why couldn’t we just make it crash like all their other stuff?”

And when this simple statement was said, everyone looked at each other. The answer was so simple. Linus had really chosen the right person for the job. He had discovered Microsoft’s weakness.

“The question is, how are we gonna crash it?” asked Tux.

“Hmm… well, we’ll think of something.” said Jack.
